Celebrating 20 Years in Real Estate by Giving Back to the Community I Love

A little later than I probably should have, I recently realized that this year marks 20 years in real estate! Twenty years!! How did that happen so quickly?!?

Naturally, I started thinking about how I should celebrate. Should I throw a party? (And who knows, I still might!) But if you know me or have followed Lee Realty for any length of time, you know how important community is to me. It’s not just something I talk about; it’s something I truly believe in.

At Lee Realty, our tagline is, “Locally Grown; Locally Owned.” That means a lot to me. I believe in keeping our money local whenever possible and supporting locally owned restaurants, shops, and businesses rather than always going online, out of state, or to the big chains. When our local businesses thrive, our entire community benefits.

So, as I thought about a special way to celebrate 20 years in this business, I wanted to do something that felt uniquely me.

And then it hit me! I’m going to give away 20 gift baskets to local organizations to use for their fundraisers and silent auctions!

I’ve already donated baskets to MacNider Museum for Artoberfest, KCMR for its Shareathon, and Music Man Square for its Soiree. I also have several other organizations on my list, including the Humane Society, Stebens Children’s Theatre, and Elderbridge.

But I’d love to find even more opportunities to help!

I recently put a request out on Facebook asking for suggestions, and I’m hoping you can help me spread the word. Do you belong to a club, volunteer with an organization, or know of a local nonprofit hosting a fundraising event that could use a gift basket or silent auction item? Please reach out! There are so many wonderful organizations doing important work in North Iowa, and I know I’m only aware of a fraction of them. What better way to celebrate 20 years in real estate than by helping support the people and organizations that make our community such a great place to live?

Real estate has given me so much more than a career. It’s given me the opportunity to meet incredible people, build relationships, and be part of the community I’ve called home my entire life. I’m incredibly grateful for that.

Twenty years in real estate is worth celebrating, and I can’t think of a better way to do it than by giving back to the community I absolutely love.
