Happy Independence Day!! Thought this would be a perfect start to my blog as it’s America’s Birthday as well! Although my husband would say we officially voted for independence on the 2nd and the 4th was when we officially adopted the document of the Declaration of Independence. The teacher in him tells us this every year 😊
For my blogs I hope you will get a taste of how much I love living in North Iowa, more information on real estate, interesting and fun things going on in this area and life in general in the great state of Iowa!

When I think of the 4th of July holiday I think of Clear Lake. We are so blessed to have this town so close to MC. I love that I can drive 10 miles west and we all have a lake we can enjoy. There is nothing like Independence Day at the lake!! The carnival makes me feel nostalgic. The amount of people at State Beach is astounding -and so fun! Clear Lake does such a great job of having free activities /music for all to take part in. And if you haven’t seen the fireworks with the lake illuminating each burst you are truly missing out! The parade the morning of the 4th is always a crowd pleaser. And I loved when they added the boat parade a few years ago; something original and entertaining! I always think I live in a Hallmark movie and going to Clear Lake to take part in the 4th of July festivities is the perfect example of that. It’s like old school Americana of days gone by. But they haven’t, and we all get to have a taste! Hope everyone enjoyed in America’s Birthday!!
